When you work with The Real Learning Experience, you’re dealing with more than a corporate training company. We are deeply involved in our community, and proud to support Square Pegs Dyslexia Support and Advocacy.
Every time a participant in a Real Learning Experience course receives a training manual, we make a financial contribution to Square Pegs.
Why? Because, just like us, Square Pegs believes everybody has the right to learn in the way that best suits them.
Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects reading and spelling in up to 10% of the population. Without adequate support, children with dyslexia often struggle at school and have poor literacy and numeracy. Square Pegs supports children with dyslexia, and their families, to reach their full potential.
There are plenty of high achievers with dyslexia. Sadly, there are also less pleasant statistics that tell the story of what happens when people with dyslexia don’t get the support they need.
We believe that parents and teachers stand at the fork in the road for children with dyslexia. Every day, we get to choose the path on which we guide those children: one where they are encouraged to succeed, or one that leads to negative outcomes.
Simon Thiessen is the father of a son with dyslexia, and is honoured to serve as a board member for Square Pegs. He played a key role in developing and delivering a course that helps parents and teachers to meet the needs of students with dyslexia.
